About Us

Who we are

CetinsGame is an independent games site that makes original browser games inspired by Turkish culture and everyday life. There are 64 games on the site, and we made every one of them here ourselves; none of them were bought or brought in from elsewhere.

Why games? Because play is one of the warmest ways to share a culture. Swirling paint across an ebru tray, setting up a stall in the Grand Bazaar, running a tea house or keeping the beat of the Mehter band are things you remember by playing, not by reading. We design our games so that players of all ages can enjoy them, whether they have five minutes or a whole evening.

Founder: Berkan Çetin

CetinsGame was founded and is run by Berkan Çetin. The idea, rules, story and final shape of every game are his decisions. He plays and tests each game himself before it goes live, and decides what to update next based on players' feedback.

His aim is to turn the crafts, the much-loved table games and the everyday life of Turkish culture into games anyone can play, with no sign-up and no download. You can reach Berkan at info@cetinsgame.com or through the Contact page.

How we make our games

Every game starts with an idea: a craft, a tradition or an everyday scene everyone recognizes. Ebru, Kilim, Çini Fırını, Hat Kalemi, Girih, Mimar Sinan, Matrakçı and Turkish Patterns Coloring Book grew out of traditional arts; Karagöz, Cirit, Okmeydanı, Kırkpınar, Tulumbacılar, Ahilik, Mehter, Lale Devri, Kervansaray, Hezarfen, Piri Reis, Evliya Çelebi, Nasreddin Hoca and Dede Korkut out of history; Sofra, Çay Ocağı, Simitçi, Dolmuş and Şerbetçi out of daily life; Times Tables out of the classroom; and Chess, Tamerlane Chess, Shatra, Tavla, Dama, Mangala, Okey, 101 Okey, Pişti, King, Batak, Reversi, Go, Hex and Dots and Boxes out of much-loved table games. Proverbs & Idioms, Sudoku, Daily Crossword, Daily Arrowword, Word Search, Hangman, Minesweeper, Mahjong and Spider Solitaire are classic puzzle and word games.

  • Story: Every game has a story of its own.
  • Culture section: Each game page includes a section on the history and traditions behind the game.
  • Sound and music: Almost all sounds and music were created for this site; the music draws inspiration from traditional makams. A few games use licensed stock music, credited in the game's about screen.
  • 7 languages: The site and the games are available in Turkish, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Russian.

Our games are free, need no download and run right in the browser on phones and computers.

Our principles

  • Fair play: There are no purchases, chips or virtual currency in our games. You never have to spend money to progress.
  • Restrained advertising: Our only income is Google ads. In-game interstitial ads appear only at the end of a level and at least 2 minutes apart, so they never interrupt play. Rewarded ads (for a hint or a second chance, for example) are always the player's own choice.
  • No gambling or betting: Chess, Tamerlane Chess, Shatra, Tavla, Dama, Mangala, Okey, 101 Okey, Pişti, King, Batak, Reversi, Go, Hex and Dots and Boxes are played against the computer; no game contains betting or gambling.
  • Content for everyone: Our games contain no blood or depictions of violence, and no religious texts. Cirit is presented as an equestrian sport.
  • No account required: You do not need to sign up to play; your progress is saved on your device. If you like, you can create an account to save your progress to the cloud.
